Astro Hounds is pushing the envelope of racing in Blockchain gaming. As you may already know, training your Astro Hound to race is a necessary preliminary step to finishing top three in a given course.

Traditional greyhound racing training focuses on speed, agility, and stamina to the ends of finishing a race. With Astro Hounds we have taken racing into galactic proportions. We are also introducing obstacles, making the future of greyhound racing not only dog centric but dynamic

In order to win, the obstacle becomes the way 🎮

More than a track, each racing field uses a vigorous set of random obstacles to prevent your Astro Hound from finishing the race. Each type of obstacle has a varying degree of difficulty, and the higher the difficulty, the higher the ability will need to be to complete the challenge. Moreover, each type of obstacle corresponds with an ability that is tested.

One type of obstacle that will test your Astro Hound’s ability to jump is the boulder. These boulders will vary in size and degree of difficulty to leap over. For instance, your hound may have to clear small, medium, large, and extra large boulders.

Moreover, water pool traps will test your hound’s swimming. Inclines test your hound’s ability to climb. Balance traps will test your hound’s agility. While quicksand will test your hound’s ability to accelerate, and fallen obstacles will test your hound’s strength.

Along with testing the trainable abilities of your Astro Hound. Obstacles also test your Astro Hound’s stamina. Your Astro Hound’s stamina will be depleted depending on how well your Astro Hound is trained at a certain task. If your hound is not trained at swimming, for example, its stamina will deplete more quickly than if it was trained.

So what does it really look like? 🧩

Obstacles are randomly generated at the start of each race, making each race a different and unique experience. Random obstacles allow for lower skill hounds to get lucky with favorable obstacles, or for higher skilled hounds to excel, as well as adds an additional element of surprise and unpredictability.

Obstacles directly correlate with trainable skills, as aforementioned. A well rounded hound can be a good way to hedge risks, while specializing skills can be an effective strategy to either ensure a win when many favorable obstacles generate or ensuring losses when many unfavorable obstacles generate.

Obstacles: Applicable Skill 🏁

Rock (small, medium, large, extra large)……………………………………………… Jump

Water trap (small, medium, large, extra large)………………………………………. Swim

Incline (small, medium, large, extra large)……………………………………………. Climb

Quick sand pit (small, medium, large, extra large)…………………………………. Accel/speed

Balance trap (small, medium, large, extra large)……………………………………. Agility

Fallen obstacle (e.g., tree trunk) (small, medium, large, extra large)………….Strength

This does not relate to the weather conditions (e.g A rock in the way does not mean a rock hound is more likely to be able to jump than a non rock hound). Likewise, a sandpit may occur in any arena also of other planets.

Each obstacle uses up stamina, with the amount depleted corresponding to that particular hound’s traits and skills. Most obstacles can affect top speed, therefore acceleration is also a skill helpful for most obstacles.

Victory is A Dogged Pursuit 🏆

Effectively there are two ways to approach your greyhound training to place in an Astro Hounds race. You can provide a balanced training regimen for your hound so that it is ready for anything that may happen on the track. Or, you can choose to engage in niche training of a few skills to excel in. The strategy you choose may mean a nice prize fund or an injured hound.
